It's been long since I blog here but than I am sure you must be visiting the main kidsfreesouls website blog.

Well, remember the days when Grannies told the stories and we listened in rapt attention with all emotions changing as we heard them. On September 27, Ancestor's day was celebrated I head but than we do have the Grandparents day celebrated every year and this Ancestor day is just like our 'Shraddh Period' i.e. 15 days of remembering our ancestors and cooking a delicacy called 'Kheer' (Milk mixed with cooked rice & nuts). We eat and remember our loved ones who are no more with us. Flooded memories come back and we really miss them.

Many of our children must be missing their grandparents and miss those stories but here is a site and I am sure, you will love to listen to these tales by great story tellers. Why, you can even find a book of your choice. Enjoy!

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was the person who set the mystery trail. It had been his birthday recently. Yeah, here's the Biography. He had a passion for books and was a master storyteller. At the age of nine, he was sent to England to Jesuit Boarding School for seven years. Arthur loathed the bigotry surrounding his studies and rebelled at corporal punishment, which was prevalent and incredibly brutal in most English schools of that epoch. During these years, his happier moments was when he wrote to his mother and while he played cricket. He then realized he had great talents of being a storyteller and amazed his friends.

Sherlock Holmes was fifty six short stories in four novels written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that became so popular for Holmes ability to solve baffling crimes through clever observations and deduction. He drew amazing conclusions from the minute details.

Here is Sherlock Holmes page at Kidsfreesouls and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Biography page that might help you to add in your Profile Scrap Book. Get into the mystery solving - You be the Detective and enjoy!

Every person aim to be Creative! Women with more leisure in their homes find more creative outlets with an art form called 'Needlework'. This needlework is today out of place in many homes and kids no longer learn the simple stitches of needlework nor any form of creativity out of it. There were days in my school when Ms.Ludvina, our Needlework class teacher use to pinch us so hard, just because we did not do our needle stitches accurately. Nevertheless, today I feel that if she was not there, I would not have learnt how to do embroidery, take the creative stitches, knit a sweater or make those cross stitch frames and table mats, etc.

Most of the schools today teach the kids how to write poetry, how to compute but miss out the patience teaching Needlework. When I recently took this class, the kids learnt how to use a needle, how to put the thread in the needle and actually learnt how to take stitches and did a cross stitch mat.
What I feel is Needlework class taught them:

1. Concentration
2. Accuracy
3. patience
4. Using common sense
5. Feeling of being creative
6. How to help others
7. Engage in a useful activity
8. Get more organised
9. How to keep silence

Most of all, it's all about being Creative, gives newer ideas and teaches 'Perfection'. So, if you are missing out on these skills, do encourage creativity and let it flourish. Unleash Creativity.

Recently, I read a Bizarre! A prisoner sues God! A Romanian prisoner is suing God for failing to save him from the Devil. The inmate, named as Pavel M in media reports, accused God of 'Cheating, abuse and traffic of influence.' The inmate argued that his baptism was a contract between him and God who was supposed to keep the Devil away and keep him out of trouble. He believed he was left in the hands of the Devil. The complaint was sent to Timisoara Court of Justice and forwarded to the prosecutor's office. However, they said that it would probably be dropped and they were unable to subpoena God to court.

My, my...by jove, God must be wondering - Where's the Hell, what's heaven for! Btw, here's my article 'Computing for kids-Is it safe?' translated into Romanian language. I can't read Romanian but if you do, let me know whether this article has been useful to you or not. Also pass on the words in Romanian for me - I'll learn to read Romanian! Enjoy!

How to be a Success? I found the answer in my room, ya know:-)

* Fan Said: Be Cool
* Roof Said : Aim High
* Window Said: See the World
* Clock Said : Minute is Precious
* Mirror Said : Reflect Before you Act
* Calendar Said: Be Up-to-date
* Door Said : Push
* Lamp Said : Make the Light of your Future....

Hmmm...Now, don't tell me you are not Listening! Coz if you don't listen patiently to what all said, you going to be a loser as success comes only to people who go for it. Follow your dreams and you can do it, if you can try. Enjoy!

There is an old Latin tag: “Non schola sed vita discimus” means, We learn not for school, but for life."

No longer is this applicable because neither teacher nor student takes it seriously. Educational systems require reform. It also stresses the responsibility of knowledge where ‘knoweldge is power.’ Moral education has fallen into disrepute. Knowledge and knowledgeable people have to take responsibility to safeguard the morality in education. Education fuels economy and shapes society and is the key factor one should remember.

Three hundred years ago, Descartes said, “I think, therefore I am” but now technology changes minds and one can say, “I see, therefore I am”. However, I end with the logical thinking: “I keep myself aware and informed with technology and new sweeping waves of changes and therefore, 'I AM'” – Education without experience and exposure is incomplete, after all!

I been hook to other blogs and missed out on the posts here lately. Patching up anyways! Summer is here with no examination fever and kids get the whole world to enjoy. This is the period when children get addicted to games. "Games make them go wild and they aren’t good for kids." Say many parents. Computer motivates skills like thinking, strategizing, computing, and much more. If you really believe that, you might be closing your child to a world that teaches him many skills.. Games are a surefire way to get your child interested in computers during summer. However, computers re-shape the lives, I also feel Computing is not safe for kids in various ways.

Whatever, surf kidsfreesouls and let me have your views Is computing Safe for kids?
